Preview Mode

InsightEmbed offers a Preview Mode that allows you to test and configure your widget before deploying it to your live website. This feature is especially useful for trying different settings and ensuring the widget works as expected without affecting your actual visitors.

Accessing Preview Mode

1. Log in to your InsightEmbed dashboard at app.insightembed.com
2. Navigate to the "Widget" section
3. Click on the "Preview" tab
4. You'll see a live preview environment where you can test your widget

Features of Preview Mode

Live Configuration Testing

In Preview Mode, you can:

• Test different visual themes and see changes in real-time
• Adjust widget positioning and size
• Try different prompt templates for analysis
• Test domain validation settings

Sample Content Testing

The preview environment includes sample content that you can use to test different types of analyses:

• Text samples of varying complexity
• Sample images for image analysis testing
• Mock webpage sections for screenshot analysis

Quota-Free Testing

All analyses performed in Preview Mode do not count against your monthly quota, allowing you to test extensively without worrying about usage limits.

Using the Preview Sandbox

Testing Text Analysis

1. In the Preview environment, select any text from the sample content
2. The widget should activate, showing the analysis options
3. Click "Analyze Text" to see how the AI would process this content
4. Review the results and adjust your configuration as needed

Testing Image Analysis

1. Click on any sample image in the Preview environment
2. Select "Analyze Image" from the widget options
3. Review the AI's analysis of the image
4. Test different prompt templates to see how they affect the analysis

Testing Screenshot Analysis

1. Click the screenshot icon in the widget
2. Select an area of the preview page to capture
3. The widget will process the screenshot and provide analysis
4. Adjust settings and try again to optimize results

Preview Mode URL

You can also access a special Preview Mode URL that you can share with team members or stakeholders to gather feedback before going live:

1. In the Preview tab, click "Generate Preview Link"
2. Copy the generated URL
3. Share this URL with anyone who needs to review the widget
4. Recipients can test the widget without needing access to your dashboard

Moving from Preview to Production

When you're satisfied with your widget configuration in Preview Mode:

1. Click "Save Configuration" to apply all settings
2. Follow the installation instructions to add the widget to your live site
3. Verify that the widget appears and functions correctly on your website

Limitations of Preview Mode

• Preview Mode simulates your website environment but may not perfectly match your actual site's behavior
• Some advanced customizations may need to be tested on your actual website
• Custom domain validation rules cannot be fully tested in Preview Mode

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues in Preview Mode:

1. Check that your browser doesn't have extensions that might interfere with the widget
2. Try using a different browser to rule out compatibility issues
3. Clear your browser cache and cookies
4. Contact support if problems persist
